Twitter has been my fangirl squee zone for the week.  So, not only has Thom Green favorited two of my Tweets, Daniel Cudmore retweeted another, but today, guess who started following me?

The main singer from Icon for Hire:

Spending part of the morning looking for a fic you're sure you've read, only to find it and realize that A.) It's a WIP B.) It was embedded in a comment which means it's more like a WIP version 0.5 and C.) that you really, really, really want to read more.

Yes, [livejournal.com profile] patriot_jackie, I'm looking at you, LOL.

On a Bible study front, I love Skip Heitzig's teaching style, so I'm restarting The Bible from 30,000 Feet series. Again.

On an American front, happy Independence Day to my fellow Americans! If you get to enjoy some delicious BBQ, know that I am jealous, LOL.  For all of you who are suffering with the nasty heat on the east coast, I hope you have A/C (or power for that matter).

On a big bang front, I still have those four scenes left.  Eek. But, I've got my Captain America cup full of Sharpie pens (the best pens ever) and some blank paper--it will soon be time to write.

On a geeky front, I couldn't get the Farscape episode "Out of Their Minds" out of my head. Dude, Claudia Black is epic in that episode. I die from laughter every time I see that episode. LOL

Now, it's time to write.

The place that keeps on giving when it comes to The Avengers awesomeness...

To quote, "IT’S LIKE THAT ONE COMMERCIAL BUT IT’S NOT."

I give you, "Little Thor."

(I'm going to end up with an Avenger tag, aren't I?)

So, it has been confirmed that Jen Taylor is coming back as the voice of Cortana.

YAY!!

It can almost (but not quite) make up for the angst that I feel when Babe causally asks if I've seen the Game Informer article titled, "The Rise and Fall of Cortana in Halo 4". The answer was a no that sounded more like a gut-wrenching sob.

DO NOT KILL MY GIRL, 343! With Johnson gone, and if Cortana kicks the virtual bucket, where will all the snark go???  I love you, John, but a series of video game you alone do not make.

I am still doing my best to stay away from plot spoilers (which is why Babe had to tell me the title of the article) because, ugh, November is too far away.

Warning: This post will contain much squeeing and fangirl flailing.  You have been warned.

I've been waiting to post this until my thoughts were cohesive and structured. Then I realized, that is never going to happen because my love for this book is profound. And so is my love for Chez.  Without further ado, I give you Without Wings by K. Writerly.

There's epic worldbuilding! And Chez! There's the awesomeness of Lasca! And Chez! There's the mysterious mystery behind--oh wait, I can't tell you who! And Chez! There are immortals and People Who Aren't As They Seem!  And Chez!

I have been fangirling this story since the excerpt was posted over at [livejournal.com profile] k_writerly's journal. And it does not disappoint. At all.  I would write some lofty review, but reread my first sentence after my warning.  I feel like my fangirl squee would reveal too much about the story.

Each of the characters are awesome (but realistically flawed--there be no Mary Sues in this fic).

Lasca is absolutely a hoot with her quirks as a lusty reluctantly-successful photographer/professor.  Some of her asides are hysterical. Seriously.  I love watching her growth throughout the entire novel. By the end, you'll totally be recognizing that Chez isn't the only badass in the family.

Speaking of my biggest book crush ever, CHEZ!!!! Ahem...Sorry about that.  Chez is like a jaded John Sheppard sprinkled with a bit of John Crichton's first season WTF-ness.  Utter sarcastic yet he's got heart. And we all know how I feel about a man with a gun. Well, he's got two. And he's named them. ♥

And Owen! Er, well, no I can't exactly get into details about him without spoilers, but he's awesome.  And if you are a fan of awesome bromance, then you are going to love and adore the interaction between him and Chez.

I could go on and on about the adorable sweetness of Gianni (If you enjoy a good slow-boil UST-y relationship, then you'll squee and flail for Lasca and Gianni), the serenity of Andro, the tough-guyness (Is that a word?) of Lei and his crew, but really? You should read this book for yourself.

It's only $2.99 on Smashwords for the eBook.  A steal I tell you!  It's going to be released in paperback on Amazon and Lulu in January and I fully intend on buying a hard copy then.  Though, if you got little ones running around the house, then you should probably tuck this one away.  While there is nothing overly explicit (especially when compared to the majority of fanfic), it does have adult themes running through it.

Go! Read and enjoy!

So, yeah, my self-imposed "vacation" from LJ has pretty much been a bust. Oh well.  I have managed to write 4k in three days and I have a plan to actually get pretty close to the word count so all is good in the Big Bang world.

I just finished making a video to my Scottish princess, [livejournal.com profile] azure_horizon (or [livejournal.com profile] bonny_banks if you prefer).  Dude, I must have tried about a half dozen times before finally getting something that didn't have me cracking up every two seconds.  There is, however, a lot of head bobbing (I blame the valley girl in me, ROFL).  I'm sure if she shows Cazz and/or San, they can all get a good laugh at just how blonde I sound. LOL

Author signups for the [livejournal.com profile] aiw_big_bang are going on.  Yes, I signed up for it even though this is my fifth big bang of the year.  The word count is relaitvely low so I'm not worried.  And I have a vague idea of what I'm writing.  (Hello Alice in Wonderland/Peter Pan crossover!)

Also, I wanted to say thank you again and show off all the goodies that were made from my prompts over at [livejournal.com profile] ic0nfest  So. Much. Goodness.

Click of the icon goodies! )

Any of the icons are snaggable, of course.  Just be sure to give the maker credit because these are all epic!

Now I'm off to write. Really.

I'm serious! LOL

Halo 4 Teaser Trailer is out.

I might die of joy.

(Though I am absolutely crushed that Jen Taylor seems to NOT be the voice of Cortana.)  She did call him John, right? Right?

And she better live through the trilogy or I'm gonna be a not happy fangirl.

And I know some people aren't thrilled with the revamp of Halo:CE, but I watched the trailer and it is made of the pretty.  The icon maker in me is gonna want to get her greedy hands on the cutscenes.

First of all...all I have to say with Fringe is 0.o  Seriously?  I'm about this close to making the Fringe hour my "finding some kind of craft to do" time.  Even Babe is ready to play some Black Ops on Friday night.

I'm finally making progress on my [livejournal.com profile] au_bigbang  story.  I just about hit the 3k (or 4k, if I include the prologue) mark which means I'm at the 20% mark of the necessary word count.  I should be able to finish it by the end of the month. Maybe.

Still can't stop thinking about the people in Japan.  I keep thinking about the foreign exchange students that stayed with my in laws (before they were my in laws) about eleven years ago. (A funny story concerning the group of foreign exchange students...they had two guys stay with them for a few weeks the first time and they brought presents for each person in the family.  Well because I lived so far away, I would stay on the weekends over at Mike's--and his parents'-- house.  When they realized that I was staying, they were very apologetic that they didn't bring me anything.  I was like "It's ok. Really."  Fast forward about six months and they had a couple of young women came to stay with them. I, sure enough, they had a present waiting for me. Apparently, the guys went back and told the agency that I stayed there and they put a note in their records. It was really thoughtful.)

I am grateful to know that [livejournal.com profile] k_writerly  is safe.  I did a happy dance when I heard back from her.  I hope, [livejournal.com profile] bearit  that you hear from your family soon. I am totally keeping the country in my prayers...totally scary stuff there.  I am totally grateful at how prepared Japan is for these earthquakes...though the damage is terrible, it could have been a LOT worse.

I'm still fighting this cold of mine.  At about five in the evening, my voice is pretty much shot which makes the girls pretty happy ("What? She can't yell at us to pick up our toys? AWESOME!") I had my surge of valley girl pride when I heard Keira say "Dude!" in disbelief.  I think I might have shed a tear. Or ten.

And look at my awesome Tangle mood theme!! Whee! Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] blencathra and [livejournal.com profile] sanadafaye for the head's up! And of course, I had to change my header back to Tangled! 'Cuz it's awesome. :D :D

So Bungie's been doing their weekly Fanart challenge and everytime they post the recap, I end up thinking one thing...."WHY CAN'T I DRAW?"  I've tried..., but dude, no.   To have to ability to actually draw something from the recesses of my mind? I want. So bad.

The highlight of the week...because this is the drawing that matches my image of John the most. And it's funny. LOL (I understand why the guy won the best of the week, but, dude, no...the face is not John.  Well, in my mind anyway. LOL)

So, things are moving along quite well in the planning stages of the [livejournal.com profile] scifibigbang thanks, in huge part, to my co-mod of awesomeness [livejournal.com profile] sanadafaye   It's scary to think that sign-ups are three weeks away.  *repeats mantra to be more organized this year*

I've decided to write the "Rapunzel and Flynn's Excellent Adventure" idea for the Big Bang though I'll probably be flailing in April saying "HOW CAN I WRITE 25K??!!?"  I'm hoping the DVD will be out by June because I want to watch it hundred more times need it for research.  (And yes, I'm still expecting to see many of you sign-up.)

My AU of epic size is still eating away at my life.  I've written over 17k in 11 days.  Dude

I've decided my EA Active Workouts video game is trying to kill me.  Too. Many. Lunges. LOL

On a side note, let's see how blonde Jessica is...Why have I been saying "meme" like "mehmeh" like, um, forever?  Really, meme is pronounced "Meem"? Then why didn't someone spell it like that? Come on, admit it...my blondness is amusing always at times.
