Google Docs = crack for my Muse?
Story time!
Once upon a time, there was a blonde chick who was at home with her little ones during Christmas Break. She wanted to write something (because the little ones were busy when their Pokemon!obsession), but her daughters had taken over her laptop (read previous statement about their Pokemon!obsession. One was watching an episode on TV, the other was playing a game on the Pokemon site.) Not wanting to upset them (and hear screaming/whining/complaining), she decided to go to Dino to write.
The only problem?
No word processing program. Other than WordPad, which is made of fail.
Er, no.
So, remembering the awesome spreadsheet that her incredible mod made for the scifibigbang , she decided to go to Google Docs to write something, anything, because if she heard anymore "I choose you, Pikachu!" she was going to go insane. Besides, it was great! She could type from computer to computer without having to email .rtf files (or something else as equally as lame).
(Yes, she did do a happy dance at this thought.)
So, she made it a habit, during Pokemon time, she would escape go to the spare computer and type. Then, after the oldest daughter went back to school, she found that she enjoyed Google Docs so much, she started using it on her beloved old laptop, Lappy. (Which was a Good thing, because when it died suddenly, she still had her story.) Even when she got her new computer, she Still used Google Docs because it was easier for her to write.
Six weeks later? She has written nearly 30k words.
No Big Bangs. No gift challenges. (Remember, that she wrote 90k last year and nearly half that word count came from Big Bang Stories.) Which leaves one unquestionable conclusion...Google Docs is her enabler.
The End.
(And no, I have no idea why I wrote that in third person. Except for maybe the fact that I'VE WRITTEN TOO MUCH FIC SINCE THE FIRST OF THE YEAR.)
