Another day, another meme...
Whee, a writing meme!
1) My favourite quotation about writing is ... Better to write for yourself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self.
Cyril Connolly
2) The first fic I wrote was ... some one shot for Star Trek: Voyager...I think.
3) I can only write ... fics that I would read myself. I suppose that's why I have a hard time with gift-exchange prompts. If I can't "feel" the plot, then that story is going nowhere.
4) I write best at this time of day ... any time it's quiet. I take my chunks of writing time when I get them.
5) I've tried several times to write ... a few epic fics, but, sadly, they remain unchanged on my hard drive. (I guess that's why my average fic is under 1k words or less, LOL)
6) I'm in the middle of writing ... well, I should be in the middle of writing my Big Bang fic (I have about 1k done), a Halo fic, a Fringe ficlet (which I will hopefully finish before next Thursday's episode or it will never get written), plus I'm brainstorming for a *gasp* original story.
7) I write fics because ... it's completely awesome? Seriously, I enjoy writing them because I like seeing the characters in situations beyond what we see in front of the camera. At times, AUs are fun to write too because it's always a joy to "fix" TPTB's mistakes.
8) My lowest moments when writing come when ... I overthink and can't get beyond a scene. That's what's going on with my Big Bang right now. I know the beginning, I know the end, but I'm stressing about how to get there while keeping the characters in characters. But instead of moving forward, I'm constantly reworking the first thousand words...which is slwoly driving me crazy.
9) My best moments when writing come when ... I have an outline laid out or an awesome quote/sentence that I use as a jumping point. And, when I can get my brain to shut up and just write,LOL.
10) The one thing that's most helped my writing has been ... being a beta. It helps me to see the flaws in my own story. (Though, admitedly, I still miss a bit...LOL)

Writing Meme = Joy!
I'm also glad to know I'm not the only one who will go over a few thousand words again and again until insanity becomes the norm.
