So, yeah, it's not finished yet. (I forgot how much I absolutely despise backstitching.) But, here's a pic in it's completely cross-stitched, but not-yet-backstitched state.



Next week, it should be done because I'm suddenly going to find myself with a ton of free time since the little ones will be back in school. (sob sob)

All cross stitches are done. Only backstitching is left and then TCSTWNBF, er, TCSTIAF will become The Cross Stitch That Is Finished and I will do a happy dance of joy.

Pictures will come on Friday. If we don't get together with the in-laws, I might even have it done by then.

Babe is over halfway through editing my fic and I just got a looksie at what my artist has been up to (it's epic!).  I can't wait until it's next Monday and I can finally post this sucker. 

Plus, I've been sailing along on my cross-stitch.  I might even get it done by the end of the month.

So, I'm feeling rather Hannibal (not Lecter) like...

It's still strange seeing that acronym, I'll tell you.



Less than a month until my deadline. I can do it! *crosses fingers*

Actually, I went into Jo-Ann yesterday and bought the stuff I need for my next project which is just tempting me to bail on this. Must. Finish. This. Project.

I told myself when I was able to fit all of the areas needed to be stitched into my hoop, a name change was in order.  And last night, finally, I was able to do it.  So, no longer will my x-stitch be referred to as The Cross-Stitch That Will Never Be Finished, but it will now be called The Cross-Stitch That Is Almost Finished.

I still have the goal of being done by my birthday which gives me just over a month.

Come on, little squares of awesomeness! :D

This week comes much progress and a much, much better picture than last week.  Soon, I'll have to change to acronym to TCSTIAF (The Cross-Stitch That Is Almost Finished)



Fingers are still crossed that I'll have it finished by my birthday. :D Plus, like I said on Twitter, I've already got my next crafting project in mind.

So, finally, after an eight week break, I started doing my Christmas cross-stitch again. I don't want to get my hopes up that I might actually get this sucker finished by September so I can get it framed before my Christmas decorations go up, but dude, I'm getting there.

I'm already on my copy of copy of Fac Fortia et Patere.

While I am confident that I'm not going to have seventeen different sets of revisions like I did with Under the Surface, I am a little concerned* with all the rewrites I'm wanting to do.

*Just a little...I knew when I was writing the section originally, I wasn't in love with the flow.

On a non-fandom front, I actually am working on my quilt again and have cross-stitched for the past two days. I almost forgot what I am doing. ;)

I did make a vid with the lights off and the flashlight pointed at it, but the disco lights didn't come out. (Boo.) But, the kids loved it and Mike couldn't believe I actually did it. ROFL.

Let's just say this week has been very productive.

The Soul Ops site--Done.  Finally.  *whew*  Mike wrote the about us page yesterday, we firmed up some details on the Task Force idea and I updated everything over at Etsy.  I still have to make my Feb post over at the blog, but considering the work Mike and I have done over the past month to get everything looking the way it does, I am completely thrilled.

The Persewnality Blog--Updated.  For the fourth week in a row.  Still feeling optimistic that I'll be able to do my four quilts from start to finish this year. 

The scifibigbang --Signups are going on.  I love seeing people sign up.  It gives this little heart major joy.

The writing--I finally found the words after they decided to take a six week vacation.  I have my entire Halo fivetimesbb scribbled out and I managed to type out the first three earlier this week.  I was pleasantly surprised when my muse started to cooperate.

There are gonna be some changes around here (nothing terrible, I promise), but I'm not going to say anything else until I get some time to formulate my thought process.  Believe it or not, I'm trying not to act impulsive.  Shocking, I know.

Part of my "Let's start some new habits for 2012" is to have (and update regularly) a crafting blog.  I really am trying to get organized (heh) and since my free time is basically A.) business B.) fandom C.) crafting I think it would be easier for me to keep track of crap having things in their own category.  YappiChick will always be my dumping grounds for anything and everything.  But, I figure if I have everything separated into their own individual blogs/sites/etc., my blonde* brain will be able to keep track of things easier.
