I did this last year, so it's high time for me to do it again. Because I was so prolific last year, I'm only including the fics that I wrote from April 2011-2012.
My list:1. A Thousand Words (Captain America)
2. Taming the Rider (Tangled)
3. Road to Recovery (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare)
4. Under the Surface (Halo)
5. Would-be Savior (Alice in Wonderland)
6. A Most Precious Treasure (Tangled)
7. The Scent of a Woman (Jurassic Park)
8. First Name Basis (Iron Man)
9. Contemplating Mortality (Halo)
10. A Matter of Opinion (Frasier)
The Readers' List (most favorited):1. A Thousand Words (Captain America)
2. Taming the Rider (Tangled)
3. A Most Precious Treasure (Tangled)
4. First Name Basis (Iron Man)
5. Under the Surface (Halo)
6. Smoldering (Prince of Persia)
7. Defying the Odds (Halo)
8. A Not So Formal Correspondence (Tangled)
9. Submerged (Prince of Persia)
10. Between the Lines (Tangled)
What surprised you most about your reader's top ten favorited stories? That "A Thousand Words" has worked its way to the top--it is the story that has the least number of hits. Other than that, nothing too surprising.
If you could take any story off the reader's top ten list, which one would it be?"A Not So Formal Correspondence". Ugh, it was like a sugar fluff bomb. So not my normal writing style.
Is there a common theme within your personal top ten? Your readers'?With mine? From my point of view, those are the stories that I feel like I "got" the characters.
With theirs? They are a bunch of 'ship lovin' folk. All of them (except for Defying the Odds) are decidedly het.
