Stargate Atlantis - Carson teaches Ronon about Earth music. (I am obviously aiming for something funny/happy here)

Ronon walked into the infirmary and heard a strange mixture of beats, electronic sounds and a female voice coming from Carson's back office. Was this what Earth considered music?

He stood there, taking in the foreign sounds before looking for the doctor. "What's this?" he asked, pointing to the speakers on Carson's desk.

"This?" Carson asked, smiling. "This is Brittany Spears. She's quite popular, you know."

No, Ronon didn't know. As he listened for a few more seconds, he had to wonder why this woman was so well-respected. "Does she play her own instruments?"

"Well, no."

"Does she write the melodies?"

"No," he leaned back in his seat and appraised the man before him. "Honestly, Ronon, I'm pretty sure her voice has being digitally enhanced. But that's not the point."

A person who couldn't sing or play an instrument? Ronon thought that was exactly the point of a musician. "Then what is it?" he rumbled.

"To dance." Carson smiled broadly.

"What?"

The doctor pushed away from his desk and stood up. To Ronon's shock, horror and fascination, Carson started dancing in the middle of his office! He shifted his hips around and made strange arm movements in rhythm with the music.

It was official, Ronon decided, he was never going to understand Earth.

"Doesn't this music make you want to get up and dance?" Carson asked after his impromptu dance was finished.

"No."

"Not even a little?"

Ronon paused. He couldn't believe it, but his foot was itching to move in time with the catchy beat coming from the speakers.

What kind of sorcery did this Britney Spears use?

"Maybe," he reluctantly admitted. "But, don't tell Sheppard. Or Teyla. Or Rodney."

Carson smiled smugly. "I won't. I promise."

Ronon turned to walk out of the office, but paused before he left. "Do you think--"

"I'll upload the files to your iPod when my shift is over."
