To be left handed...
Are left-handed people smarter?

Yep. According to researcher Alan Searleman, southpaws have higher IQs, solve problems better and enjoy more extensive vocabularies than righties. Lefty cases in point: Isaac Newton, Benjamin Franklin, Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso, for starters. Not to mention every U.S. president since 1981, except George Bush.

Take heart, righties: Searleman's study also found that lefties have worse memories than their right-handed peers.

*******

I wouldn't call myself "smarter", but I do see things in a completely different way than most. And I'll go for the vocabulary bit. When I gey annoyed, I start flinging the words around...Babe always says that he can tell how mad I am by counting the syllables in the words I say. LOL

And I completely agree with the memory thing. I know I had a point to go along with it, but I can't remember what it was. ;) ;) Seriously, anyone in the GW thread knows how often I forget to do things *cough* update the RR page or read fanfics *cough* LOL And you would giggle if you saw the "To Do" lists around the house. It's not because I have a lot to do--it's just I won't remember to do any of it.

I think it's totally weird about the presidents...oh well, go Lefties!! :D :D

I heard a while ago that lefties were more intelligent because the right side of the brain operates the left side of the body... no idea how acturate that it.

What about people who can't decide whether they are left or right handed? My bro's just backwards :P

Actually, I'm not a true leftie. My brain decided to split everything down the middle:

The left-handed way:

Write, eat, cross-stitch, paint, hit a ball (like baseball)

The right-handed way:

use scissors, pour a drink, use a mouse, throw a ball

Funny story...my mother in law had this little village houses she was painting and she wanted me to paint one. So, I pick up the paintbrush with my right hand (because that's what felt "right") and start painting. It looked, um, not good. So later, Babe comes in and says "Dear, why aren't you painting with your left hand?" I switched and it was like a different person painted it.

Yeah, I know, blonde blonde blonde. LOL

My brother is the opposite :P He writes with his right hand but does other things with his left. Last year he was wrapping up some presents and started moaning that the scissors were always so awkward, so I pointed out to him that he was using right handed scissors in his left hand! *rolleyes* 23 years and he still hadn't noticed he was using his left hand :P

So... you can paint? :D:P

Um, no. I really can't. At least when I switched hands, it looked like I could paint within the lines. :P

I'm much more of a "give me directions and I can do it" kind of girl, which explains my love for cross stitching and my interest in quilting.

It was frustrating in school because they would always give me the leftie scissors and I would be like "No, I need the normal ones." They just looked at me like "the poor confused blonde." Then when the teachers weren't looking, I'd go to the bin and grab the regular scissors. LOL, the pains of being a Lightie...ROFL

I take it you're a leftie then?
