Why it's awesome: Disclaimer: I love, love, love AUs and while this story isn't an AU, it certainly has that feel.  We get to see five different Alices and Hatters.  Each pair is unique. Plus, for the majority of the fic, we get the (IMO) best narrator: Chess. (I love that cat.) Plus, for an added bonus of goodness, devour the footnotes.  :D

Favorite Line:

I do not like blood: it mattes the fur.  Uninvolvement was a wiser choice for me.

The world inverted.  Everything went dark.  And everything had to begin again, new, different, more magical, and Under.

Perhaps in this one case it was not the Alice who was not Alice enough.  But I do so hate politics.
