I hit 12k on my Halo fic...as in typing it out. I have massive amounts of notes/random scenes/etc. to try to piece together in my handy-dandy notebook.  I *think* it will end up somewhere around the 30k range? Maybe?

I do have a title for it though: Fac Fortia et Patere.  So at least that's something.

And, internet, stop distracting me. ROFL

I am at that point when I fighting the impulse to stop moving forward in my story to go back to the beginning and start editing what I have.  So far, I have managed to ignore my inner editor.

I'm at about 7k with the Halo fic. Maybe more. I've got a notebook with random snippets that I've jotted down as the muse has led me.

I've got about 1k with the Push fic. (Ack, I'm so nervous about this one.)

Must keep writing.

I knew that coming into this month, my life was going to be hectic. I just underestimated how busy life has become.  It's not that anything terrible has happened (well, minus the car accident), it's just that I have a lot on my plate.  And, over the past week, I have accepted that I don't have the time/energy to spend as much time online as I once did.

So, I am stepping down as "captain" of [livejournal.com profile] scifibigbang and giving my co-captain full control.  I'm still going to be involved (I'm following her lead), but honestly, I don't have the ability to mod the comm the way it deserves.  Fortunately, she is an absolute rock star and I know the comm is in awesome hands.  (She has already done/is doing so much, I doubt anyone in the comm will notice the transition.)  It's sad because I remembering starting the comm years ago and not knowing what I was doing. ROFL Good times. Good times.

On a much more positive note, the artwork I made for Five Bullets has been posted.  The story been getting some love over at Smashwords which is always a wonderful thing! :D :D

Today was the first time I've been online (sans the business) in over a week.  I know there are birthdays I have missed. :(  So, happy belated birthday to [livejournal.com profile] gelbes_gilatier and [livejournal.com profile] grav_ity.  Both of you ladies are awesome and lovely!

I'm sure there is fic that I haven't read and there are about a million entries that I haven't read (and doubt I'll ever get a chance to read).  If something epic happened, drop me a line!

I did manage to watch the Fringe finale. (Meh, without spoilers, I'm perfectly content to let the series end there.) I have managed to stay away from Halo spoilers (Though I am not sure my resolve will last when they start releasing the official plotline in a couple of weeks).  And yeah...that's it. Not much in the fandom department. (OK, I lied.  The Avengers is still awesome! There, that's better, LOL)

So, I assumed that I would write for the [livejournal.com profile] het_bigbang this year.  I think the mod is awesome and she ran a great challenge last year.  I thought I would just drop out of writing my Captain America fic for the [livejournal.com profile] scifibigbang (I always drop one anyway.) and write it for the [livejournal.com profile] het_bigbang.  My muse, however, has other ideas.

I am really, really considering writing a Push fic which sort of terrifies me.  I've never written anything for the fandom, a good chunk of the fics that have been written are of above average caliber, and there would be action-y bits which are not my forte. At all.

On the other hand, it's something I'm actually excited about writing which might get me out of my writing funk.

(Never mind the fact, I do this every year and then drop one story. LOL)

Let's just say this week has been very productive.

The Soul Ops site--Done.  Finally.  *whew*  Mike wrote the about us page yesterday, we firmed up some details on the Task Force idea and I updated everything over at Etsy.  I still have to make my Feb post over at the blog, but considering the work Mike and I have done over the past month to get everything looking the way it does, I am completely thrilled.

The Persewnality Blog--Updated.  For the fourth week in a row.  Still feeling optimistic that I'll be able to do my four quilts from start to finish this year.

The [community profile] scifibigbang --Signups are going on.  I love seeing people sign up.  It gives this little heart major joy.

The writing--I finally found the words after they decided to take a six week vacation.  I have my entire Halo [community profile] fivetimesbb scribbled out and I managed to type out the first three earlier this week.  I was pleasantly surprised when my muse started to cooperate.

There are gonna be some changes around here (nothing terrible, I promise), but I'm not going to say anything else until I get some time to formulate my thought process.  Believe it or not, I'm trying not to act impulsive.  Shocking, I know.

Finally finished the rough draft of entry #1 for [community profile] fivetimesbb .  It's for the ST:TNG fandom.  It's been so long since I've written in that fandom.  I'm still trying to decide if the reunion was like meeting with your favorite relative after a few years or the awkward feeling when you see someone from high school who used to be your friend, but has nothing in common with you now.

I'll take my feelings with a grain of salt.  Right now, I think everything I'm writing is rubbish so I might be biased.

I do need your help.  Can you give me any fantasy/sci-fi fandoms that have started/gotten popular over the past year or so?  I know we're adding Once Upon a Time and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.  My co-mod and I know nothing of Hunger Games so we're not sure if that fits in the "fantasy" realm so any help there would be appreciated.

You know with all the writing for Tangled and Halo, I almost forgot (OK, I did forget) how much fun it is to write for the Alice in Wonderland fandom. I mean, you can play with so many things! I told Babe about my little idea (it's a very small detail) to weave into the story and he even admitted it was pretty clever. (I considered that a win because AiW is SO not his type of fandom.)

I'm on page four of my "I'm going to write this sucker out by hand before I start typing" challenge. As I was drifting to sleep, I kind of finalized the plotline, but can I remember it now? Er, no. I'll have to sit down and try to outline it later today and hopefully it will come back to me.

My author liked her art for the [livejournal.com profile] het_bigbang! Woot! So that's one more thing off the Big Bang To Do List! I still haven't caved and signed up for the [livejournal.com profile] hc_bigbang Talk about self-control! ROFL But, I do have a plot for next year's [livejournal.com profile] scifibigbang. You know the one that doesn't start for another six months. (Unless my esteemed co-mod thinks we should change the timeline.)

With this idea to write a Primeval fic, my dear friend [livejournal.com profile] ruby_caspar has given me an introduction to Cockney rhyming slang. And I thought getting my blonde brain wrapped around the lessons from my Scottish guru, [livejournal.com profile] azure_horizon was difficult, LOL But, I am determined to write a fic for it after the AiW fic. Even if poor Ruby is going to have to Un-Americanize the whole thing. ROFL

Now I'm off to pick up the little one and some Taco Bell. :D

Someone tell me not to sign up for this despite the fact there is a rabid plot bunny bouncing in my head

[livejournal.com profile] hc_bigbang[livejournal.com profile] hc_bigbang[livejournal.com profile] hc_bigbang

I mean, I don't even like the genre too much and yet the pull is there.

The story isn't due until April. So, if I did sign up for it, that would already be my fourth big bang for 2012 (assuming I didn't finish it this year) after [livejournal.com profile] disney_bigbang, [livejournal.com profile] scifibigbang and [community profile] hardmode

Don't bother telling me I'm obsessed with Big Bangs. I already know. LOL

And yes, you guys should sign up because of the pretty artwork you get with your fic. :D

So, yeah, my self-imposed "vacation" from LJ has pretty much been a bust. Oh well.  I have managed to write 4k in three days and I have a plan to actually get pretty close to the word count so all is good in the Big Bang world.

I just finished making a video to my Scottish princess, [livejournal.com profile] azure_horizon (or [livejournal.com profile] bonny_banks if you prefer).  Dude, I must have tried about a half dozen times before finally getting something that didn't have me cracking up every two seconds.  There is, however, a lot of head bobbing (I blame the valley girl in me, ROFL).  I'm sure if she shows Cazz and/or San, they can all get a good laugh at just how blonde I sound. LOL

Author signups for the [livejournal.com profile] aiw_big_bang are going on.  Yes, I signed up for it even though this is my fifth big bang of the year.  The word count is relaitvely low so I'm not worried.  And I have a vague idea of what I'm writing.  (Hello Alice in Wonderland/Peter Pan crossover!)

Also, I wanted to say thank you again and show off all the goodies that were made from my prompts over at [livejournal.com profile] ic0nfest  So. Much. Goodness.

Click of the icon goodies! )

Any of the icons are snaggable, of course.  Just be sure to give the maker credit because these are all epic!

Now I'm off to write. Really.

I'm serious! LOL

Yes, I'm still on my self-imposed vacation until I get some major writing done, but I thought I would turn to my trusty f-list for help.

OK, so Taming the Rider is the story of Rapunzel's birthday told from Eugene's POV.  Here's my issue.  I don't know where to stop it.  I don't want anything to do with the angst of the ending.  This is a total fluff story here.  (I know...me? Fluff? LOL)  So, when do you think is a good place to stop?

[Poll #1773272]
I always knew the ending was going to be the hardest because I want it to have a sense of closure even though everyone knows big, epic plotty things happen after the end.  So, any advice is epic! :D

Has anyone heard anything about the [livejournal.com profile] au_bigbang ?  Like where/how to submit our stories?  I know fic summaries/rough drafts are due today, but there has been nothing from the mods today. :/

I signed up to do another Tangled Big Bang fic at [livejournal.com profile] het_bigbang

I place the blame squarely on [livejournal.com profile] just_a_dram  and [livejournal.com profile] oparu's shoulders.

The good news? I've already got the titles of the seven chapters and plot bunnies bouncing around. The bad news? Dude, it's another 25k.  I don't want to even think about my annual word count when I get to the end of August, LOL

I'm at the 6k mark for "Taming the Rider" and I'm pretty confident that I'll hit the 10k mark by Sunday.  That being said, it's never a good sign when I start making myself laugh at what I've written.  It means I'm becoming very punchy.

(And how do I not have a !tangled tag?)

Yup, I signed up for the [livejournal.com profile] het_bigbang (I'm weak against the plot bunnies! Plus it's due two months after my other Big Bangs! Give me more time and I'll come up with more "reasons".)

So now I'm gonna to encourage y'all do to the same.

Yes, it's Tangled. And there will be pirates.
